ME Funding is a new funder within the group who will help to facilitate further expansion of the business and it’s revenue by obtaining funding into the organisation and lending out to multiple law firms, and multiple claim types. It will also generate additional revenue through provision of outsourcing services.

Job Purpose

To ensure all areas of both regulatory and company compliance are carried out across the ME group. Assist the General Counsel, Head of Compliance and Compliance Manager in the ongoing development and delivery of the compliance management framework, including data protection.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the General Counsel, Head of Compliance and Compliance Manager as required, to deliver a robust compliance management framework for the ME group.
  • Undertake delivery of certain allocated activities from the annual compliance plan
  • Assist in monitoring activities of the ME group, providing feedback and advice as required. Including and not limited to file reviews, complaints handling and reporting, data protection, quality assurance and adherence to other policies and processes
  • Horizon scan and liaise with business owners to address current and emerging compliance and regulatory risks
  • Make recommendations for areas of improvement
  • Provide administrative support to the General Counsel, Head of Compliance and Compliance Manager
  • Support and deliver compliance training and guidance to business colleagues where required
  • Contribute to key compliance metrics and other submissions for Group Risk Committee and Board reports.
  • Working closely with other teams, including Risk, HR and Finance, to support the development of relevant policies.
  • Support the embedding of a compliance culture across the ME group
  • Build and maintain good general knowledge of the ME group and its products and services
  • Comply with Data Protection and Confidentiality guidelines and other company policy and procedures
  • Comply with company, legal and regulatory standards of conduct
  • Share knowledge and best practice with team and group members and provide support as necessary
  • Carry out any other duties within capabilities as required by the needs of the business including supporting the General Counsel, Head of Compliance and Compliance Manager

  • Able to support the application of policy and procedure across the ME group through engaging and practical methods
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to interpret and communicate complex legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Ability to problem solve and provide workable solutions
  • Confident to thrive under pressure, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • IT literate with MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to pick up new systems
