ME Funding is a new funder within the group who will help to facilitate further expansion of the business and it’s revenue by obtaining funding into the organisation and lending out to multiple law firms, and multiple claim types. It will also generate additional revenue through provision of outsourcing services.

Job Purpose

ME Funding manages disbursement funding (also commonly referred to as litigation funding), lent to law firms by credit investors, to enable law firms to fund the costs associated with representing their clients in disputes (known as disbursements). Funding is provided on a “No Win, No Fee” basis meaning that if a client’s dispute is unsuccessful, they do not have to repay the funding as there is specialist insurance (known as After-the-Event or ATE) which will repay the funding on their behalf.  We are looking for an experienced credit professional who wants to positively impact customers, colleagues and the success of the business by supporting the credit function.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with underwriting and due diligence for law firms, insurance companies, defendants, clients, and different suppliers
  • Onboard new law firms onto the funding portal
  • Own the due diligence and onboarding processes as part of Operations
  • Conduct and review credit searches and AML/KYC checks where required
  • Complete various administrative duties, as assigned
  • Work closely with credit underwriters, operations and legal teams
  • Support Credit & Operations Manager with Portfolio Monitoring – including credit risk monitoring and analysis
  • Use automated computer software to extract reports, access and maintain data files
  • Track commercial bureau monitoring alerts and refer to credit analysts where necessary
  • Monitor law firms tangible net worth
  • Monitor utilisation of credit facilities and progress with legal disputes
  • Monitor for covenant breaches

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous relevant experience in credit/operations roles
  • Good training skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly organised and self-motivated able to learn quickly and work independently
  • Hardworking individual with ability to prioritise and deliver results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment
