Role Purpose

To provide strategic leadership over the Company’s financial affairs ensuring integrity of financial information sent to the board and key Stakeholders.

Competency Requirements

  • Typically, a former principal of a private equity firm, large accounting practice or similar
  • Experience as an Audit Committee Chair or member
  • Be able to demonstrate value added through contribution to strategy, financial modelling and experience of investment markets.
  • Be able to openly and constructively challenge the board and management team on anything that impacts or could impact our customers, company and employees.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial information and ensure that the financial controls and systems of risk management are robust and defensible.
  • Consider and advise on financial risk and ensure appropriate risk management is applied to decisions taken by the Board.
  • Provide appropriate challenge and support to the short- and long-term financial planning process
  • Advise on the efficient use of resources and contribute to the Group’s Investment Committee
  • Ensure that the Group’s statutory accounts present a true and fair reflection of its financial performance
  • Independence and impartiality
  • Use their network to assist with the Board’s objectives where appropriate
  • Provide creative and informed contribution and act as a constructive critic in looking at the objectives and plans devised by the Executive Team
  • Monitor the performance of the Executive Team
  • Ensure appropriate succession plans are in place for the Executive Team
  • Hold the Board to account

Skills & Qualifications

  • FCA or equivalent
  • Strong network within the professional and/or financial services sectors
  • Strong network within the professional and/or financial services sectors
  • Must be a respected and experienced Non-Executive Director (i.e. Portfolio NED)
  • Must have strong principles, integrity and high ethical standards.
  • To be an ambassador for the Group.
  • Demonstrate and show Leadership and be a strategic thinker.
  • Mentoring of Board members.
  • Help to achieve business development and organic growth.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
